non-BEC
April 04, 2012
12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Location
International Masonry Institute, 2140 W. Corporate Drive, Addison, IL 60101
Posted by Scott Conwell

Presented by Norah Prombo, Dow Building Solutions. This seminar looks at brick and block walls using extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation and insulating foam sealant. This wall system meets current code requirements for continuous insulation and air barrier, passes ASTM E2357-air leakage test, and is a proven air barrier assembly by ABAA (Air Barrier Association of America). The system is simple to detail for easy, high quality field installation. XPS rigid board insulation performs well in high moisture cavity wall applications with a maximum effective thermal performance R-value of 5.6/inch; backed by a 50 year thermal warranty. In addition to the 60-minute classroom seminar, attendees will participate in a 30-minute interactive demonstration of a full scale high performance masonry mockup. This program meets state of Illinois and AIA/CES requirements for continuing education, and qualifies for 1.0 LUs. Register online at http://goo.gl/JGqWm.
