Emily Whitbeck O’Keefe

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH)

Emily has more than 10 years’ experience with SGH as a building envelope consultant for new and existing building projects. Her work includes investigation and restoration of facades, plazas, roofing, and historic structures as well as consulting on new design projects. Additionally, she has experience with materials investigation, flooring, and building science rehabilitation projects. Emily is excited to continue working with the BEC board to bring great programming to the Chicago architecture and engineering community.

Albert Migon
Senior Technical Coordinator
Stantec Architecture in Chicago

Albert Migon is currently a Senior Technical Coordinator at Stantec Architecture in Chicago. Albert graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, Illinois) in 1994 with a Bachelor of Architecture. After working 3 years for a construction company, he started at VOA Associates Inc. Albert has over 22 years of architecture experience, 19 years at VOA and 3+ years at Stantec (which had acquired VOA).
Albert has over 25 years of architectural experience in higher education, residential, and government projects. In addition, he also has several years of residential and high-rise renovation experience. Albert is heavily involved in the construction document phase including production of project contract documents, consultant coordination, schedules, cost estimates, and the construction administration/ field observation for projects.

  • Hyatt Place Hotel at 28 N. Franklin
  • Roosevelt University Vertical Campus tower in Chicago
  • Lexington Park Condominiums in Chicago
  • University of Illinois Recreation Center Expansion and Renovation in Urbana-Champaign

In addition to working at Stantec, Albert was a soccer coach for 6 years at the Peterson Park American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO 183). He coached girl’s soccer for both of his daughter’s teams. After retiring from coaching last year, Albert is looking forward to becoming more involved with the local architecture community and organizations.
