Who we are
In response to increasing local interest, we formed a Building Enclosure Council to serve the construction industry in the south Lake Michigan region. BEC-Chicago is a community of people within the construction industry with interest and expertise in the design and construction of building enclosures. Our goal is to improve the design and construction of buildings in our region by promoting approaches to enclosure design that are reliable, durable, constructible, and cost-effective.
We are a committee of AIA Chicago and are guided by an independent local board of AIA and non-AIA members.
We work in cooperation with BETEC – the National Institute of Building Science and Technology Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council, and the American Institute of Architects.
