Chapter Meeting: The 411 on: Reducing Your Material Footprint While Improving Occupant

non-BEC
January 23, 2018
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location
East Bank Club - 500 N. Kingsbury Street, Chicago, IL 60654
Posted by Rebecca Booth

The building materials landscape is changing quickly and designers are taking a closer look at the Life Cycle Assessment of building products. as buildings become more efficient, the embodied carbon and environmental impact of building products is taking on a greater proportion of the total impact of design, construction and operations of buildings. Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) is a smart way to evaluate products across multiple environmental impacts and compare options to design and construct more efficient buildings.

About the Presenters:

John Mlade, LFA, WELL Faculty, LEED Fellow

Since 2001, John has supported clients in shaping sustainability strategies that succeed for the environment, people and the bottom line. His professional focus has been on health in the built environment, from air quality through materials health and transparency, active design and biophilia. To that end, he is one of the first RESET ASPs, serves on the HPDC Technical Committee, is a trained Living Building Challenge auditor on behalf of ILFI, and promotes health through his roles as a Fitwel Ambassador and WELL Faculty.
