Life Cycle Cost Analysis of Building Envelope Systems

non-BEC
June 18, 2012
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Location
International Masonry Institute, 2140 W. Corporate Drive, Addison, IL 60101
Posted by Scott Conwell

This seminar will introduce the participants to the concept of Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) and its role in the design of building envelopes. Participants will learn about the different components used in LCCA including, but not limited to, initial cost, operating cost, and salvage cost; then calculate the present worth of building envelope systems. Learn the importance of non-monetary criteria such as aesthetics, durability, and sustainability in determining the life cycle cost of buildings and a method to incorporate such criteria in LCCA. Participants will also learn to perform LCCA on different envelope systems and compare the results based on building location, owner preference, building life, and other criteria. Presenter: Shannon Riley Perry, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Interstate Brick. Lunch is provided by Bricks Inc. Free with pre-registration. Register online at http://goo.gl/RbXkl. Space is limited to the first 75 registrants, so register early. For additional information IMI at (630) 396-3144 or sconwell@imiweb.org
