Description:
This presentation highlights the Yannell PHIUS Residence, the recipient of the 2023 AIA Chicago Decarbonization Award and the 2022 AIA Illinois Decarbonization Award. As the first single-family Passive House (PHIUS) retrofit project in the Midwest, this initiative aims to show the speculative home renovation market that renovations can achieve high levels of energy efficiency and sustainability by meeting PHIUS benchmarks. This project serves as a model for existing building electrification and aligns with 2050 decarbonization goals.
