PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This seminar related to ventilated rainscreen facades using porcelain will be focused on design and construction considerations pertaining to performance, constructability, economics and aesthetics that are all critical elements but yet balanced during the decision making process for achieving defined success based on the objectives of the project. Format will include lessons learned based on actual projects.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1) Gain an understanding of what factors impact economics & constructability of an assembly.
2) Gain knowledge of considerations related to engineering of the sub-framing assembly in order to optimize design & construction for project specific conditions.
3) Learn about various testing such as fastener pull-out, wind loading, seismic loading, porcelain durability, etc.
4) Review project case studies that provide lessons learned and best practices that need consideration during the design and construction process.

PRESENTER BIO:
Giancarlo Savini is Imola Tecnica’s CEO, a world leader manufacturer of Ventilated Façades/Rainscreen systems in Porcelain, with over 25 years of experience and more than 300 projects realized all over the world.
After graduating at the Ceramic High School of Faenza (Italy), Giancarlo spent 10 years as a Leader of Research & Development in the tile production industry. meanwhile, he obtained his Business and Administration Degree at the University of Bologna (Italy), and later on, he became Product Manager at Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola group, position that he held for 10 years. After being Cladding Systems Director for 4 years, Giancarlo has been Imola Tecnica’s Chief Executive Officer since 2008.
With a career of over 30 years in the ceramic and porcelain industry, Giancarlo has developed extensive expertise in the Rainscreen Exterior Cladding Systems, which has turned Imola Tecnica into one of the world leader manufacturer of Ventilated Façade in Porcelain.
