Introduction to Semi-Automated Mason (SAM) In Masonry Design and Construction

This program provides an introduction to new software for designing masonry walls on bond and the ability to create non-standard patterns to be used with new technology like SAM the Semi-Automated Mason, a bricklaying robot for onsite masonry construction.  Immediately following the seminar, SAM will demonstrate its bricklaying capabilities driven by the technology demonstrated during the classroom presentation.

Learning Objectives:

1.      Identify current challenges facing the masonry industry.
2.      Understand the importance of building masonry walls on bond and the impact designs that are not on bond.
3.      Understand the impact of SAM the bricklaying robot and how this technology will allow for new and unique design patterns.
4.      Understand the impact on health and safety and how SAM100 positively impacts workers health and safety.

Seating:

Preferred, West Classroom tickets for the main classroom are limited availability to the first professionals who reserve their tickets online.  We will then offer a limited number of East Classroom (overflow seating tickets) for an on-site remote classroom connected via webinar.  Off-site webinar viewing is not available at this time. 

Continuing Education:

This program meets state of Illinois and AIA/CES requirements for continuing education, and qualifies for 2.0 Learning Units.
