Medical buildings, research laboratories, and their support spaces usually require specialized interior environments and exacting control of interior environmental parameters to maintain conditions that are acceptable to medical professionals and researchers.  The high-performance building enclosures and close coordination of building enclosure design and mechanical operating system parameters that are required to stand up and contain these conditions are complex, and frequently the source of building envelope performance problems.  The lecture will cover typical building enclosure parameters for medical buildings, common performance problems and their causes, and project delivery, design and construction strategies to avoid them.
